Telangana Housing Scheme Progress Report

As of June 2019, the progress report for the Telangana 2BHK Housing Scheme indicates that only 22,520 housing units have been built across 31 districts. This falls short of the scheduled 2.72 lakh houses by March 2019. It is said that the reason for this delay is the lack of sufficient funds from the state government and the challenges of the project contractors.

The first phase is projected to finish the remaining 1.79 lakh units by 2020. Nonetheless, the deceleration in construction progress is concerning as an extra three lakh units need to be constructed by 2024. There has been no declaration about the outcomes of the Telangana double-bedroom houses scheme.
